To create timeless artistic images, we must set the stage; location, clothing and disposition of your session are all equally important. And then you just wait for that "moment." All of these factors, along with much time spent in my digital darkroom, re-touching and enhancing your photos, come together to create your own personal work of art.
Locations. We'll discuss your style and what type of "feeling" you'd like your portaits to have. Are you more trendy, and like a hip, urban feel; the look of brick walls, distressed doorways, and pavement?
Or more earthy, using nature as the backdrop; such as the botanical gardens, an orchard, or an open field? Some clients prefer using the comfort of their own home; laid back and natural, where your children are most like themselves. Or you may have a great location of your own to share; family property, lake house, stables etc. We will discuss all of these options and then coordinate a "look" to compliment your location choice.
The Look. I love to be hands on with the styling of my clients, so feel free to call or email me if you are unsure or would like suggestions about a particular outfit or idea. Clothing choice is very important and can really make or break a session. I treat each session as it's own work of art, and I feel that the right clothing choices can truly enhance your images. You also don't want anything too distracting as to take away from your child. We'll want to make sure that the look we're trying to create, corresponds with the location you choose as well. There will be plenty of time to allow for several clothing changes, if you'd like to bring a few different outfits.
